  1. lol ... you do not.
One day it will just happen. At least that is what my husband tells me .. you see, he used to teach people how to meditate. I think I was his one failure.

  2. I am guessing that your post (which I am about to read) will not teach me how to meditate. Then again, I may not be teachable. After two years of yoga and two library books on meditation, I still can't do it.

  3. @a Broad: It was actually a joke. My struggle is more with attending temple than with meditating. ;-)

@The Sweetest: It's really quite easy. Just start with palatable chunks, say five minutes at a time and don't worry if your mind wanders. That's what my teachers have shown me and it helps to know we're supposed to be human and messy.

  4. I think a lot of people don't understand the actual purpose of meditation. It is not trying to zone out into nothing ,like sleeping .The goal is becoming aware of the present moment. -The power of Now- by Eckert Tolle is a good book. -Guitar Zen- by Philip Toshio Sudo- is a great book that can be applied to everyday life and helps you understand meditation. I just picked it up and well worth the 14 bucks for a wealth of information.
